PETALING JAYA: Police are looking for an Indonesian maid who was captured on video committing a lewd act on a baby.
Petaling Jaya Deputy OCPD Supt Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said police received a report on the incident at 1.56pm on Thursday (April 20).
"Initial investigations revealed the woman in the video was a former maid of the complainant," he said in a statement on Monday (April 24).
He added that the suspect had gone back to Indonesia last year.
"The suspect worked for the complainant for about a year and a half and did not have her contract extended due to disciplinary problems.
He said police were now in the midst of tracking down witnesses.
He said checks revealed the maid left Malaysia on Sept 27, 2020.
"We have classified the case under Section 8 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act for exchanging or publishing child pornography," he said.
