Singapore ministers visit Johor Ruler at Istana Bukit Serene on first day of Raya


JOHOR BARU: Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah received a warm visit from two Singapore Ministers on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri here.

Singapore’s Sustainability and the Environment Minister Grace Fu as well as the island republic’s Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr Tan See Leng visited their Majesties at Istana Bukit Serene here on Saturday (April 22).

Joining the visit were the Singapore Consulate-General in Johor Baru Jeevan Singh and his spouse Sima Aghazadeh.

“The visit is part of the longstanding tradition of Singapore representatives visiting the Johor Sultan on Hari Raya and it symbolises the continued warm ties between Singapore and Johor,” read a statement on the Sultan’s official Facebook page.

The guests were also feted to lunch by Sultan Ibrahim and the Johor Royal family.

Also present were Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, Che' Puan Besar Khaleeda Bustamam, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim and Datuk Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.
