Moderate earthquake jolts northern Maluku Sea, Indonesia


KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale was detected in the northern Maluku Sea, Indonesia, at 6.21pm on Friday (April 21).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said in a statement on Friday that the earthquake occurred 161km south of Talaud Island, Indonesia, at a depth of 80km.
