Two killed, three hurt in truck collision


SIBU: Two men were killed in an accident involving two pickup trucks along Jalan Selangau-Mukah here on Monday (April 17).

A spokesman for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said it received a report on the incident at 11.15am.

He said members from the Selangau Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene.

"Firefighters used special equipment to remove the two drivers who were trapped in their vehicles. "They were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics," he said.

The bodies of the two victims have been handed over to the police for further action.

The spokesman added that the three passengers in the pickup trucks were also injured.

"The injured passengers, one woman and two men, were taken to the Selangau health clinic by the public before our team arrived," he said.
