Woman cheated of RM526,000 over ‘Rolex’ watches

SIBU: A housewife lost RM526,000 after being duped into buying four "Rolex" watches that were offered at a cheap price.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Zulkipli Suhaili said the Commercial Crime Investigation Department had on March 14 received a report from the 60-year victim, claiming that she was cheated of RM526,000 by a suspect who was selling the Rolex watches at cheap price in February.

"The deal was done via WeChat in early February. As she was attracted by the offer, she made nine transactions totalling RM526,000 to an account number provided by the suspect from February 15 to 27," he said.

However, she has yet to receive the watches.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
