Two killed, one hurt as car rams into parked vehicles in Batu Pahat


BATU PAHAT: Two men were killed while one was injured after their car rammed into four parked vehicles near a service centre here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said that police received information about the incident at KM11 of Jalan Kluang-Batu Pahat at about 1.15am on Sunday (April 9).

"The driver, along with two others in the car, were heading towards Sri Gading from Batu Pahat.

"Based on initial investigation, the accident is believed to have happened at about 12.50am when the 22-year-old driver of the car lost control of the vehicle which skidded and rammed into four other vehicles," he said in a statement.

He said that the driver and a 19-year-old passenger, suffered injuries to the head and body.

"They passed away at the scene after succumbing to the injuries. Another passenger, also 19, suffered serious injuries and was sent to the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Batu Pahat," he said.

He said that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
