PASIR GUDANG: More than 400 boxes of contraband cigarettes worth RM4,660 have been seized following checks on traders at Jalan Pekeliling here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Sohaimi Ishak said that a group of auxiliary policemen from a company conducted checks on traders operating at its car park at about 7.05am on Saturday (April 8).

"Following checks, they found a total of 469 boxes of cigarettes believed to be untaxed. Also arrested was a foreign woman in her 60s. Based on checks, she has no criminal record.

"The suspect has been remanded for seven days, starting from April 9 under Section 116 C of the Customs Act 1976," he said in a statement on Sunday (April 9).
