GEORGE TOWN: Palm Sunday celebration was observed on a modest scale at several churches here.A morning downpour had disrupted processions scheduled to be held as part of the celebration, with the St George’s Church here seeing more than 150 people taking part in a mini procession and singing hymns and waving palm fronds at the church compound.

They gathered at the parish hall at 7.30am yesterday, with Assoc Vicar Rev Stephen Vello present for the brief procession before they entered the hall.
