No groups barred from entering campus grounds, says Higher Education Ministry

JOHOR BARU: The Higher Education Minister has not placed any restrictions on any group from entering varsity campus grounds, says Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

However, the Higher Education Minister said those who want to do so must inform the university's management first.

He said this when asked to comment on the incident where Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was barred from entering Universiti Teknologi Mara (Uitm) Shah Alam for a dialogue session on Thursday (March 30).

"Maybe there was a communication breakdown. We hope that the two parties can meet up and arrange for the event to be held at another time," he said at a press conference at the Johor Umno headquarters here on Saturday (April 1).

Uitm Shah Alam Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Roziah Mohd Janor had said that it was not singling Syed Saddiq out but the proper application process needs to be followed, which is through the Vice Chancellor's office.
