MELAKA: The swearing-in ceremony for Melaka's new Chief Minister will be held at 3pm on Friday (March 31), said state secretary Datuk Wira Zaidi Johari.

He said the ceremony would be held at the main hall of the Yang-Di Pertua Negeri office in Ayer Keroh here.

In a statement on Thursday (March 30), Zaidi said that Melaka’s Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam had received Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali’s resignation letter.

Sulaiman, 56, who is Lendu assemblyman, was sworn in as the 12th Melaka Chief Minister on March 9, 2020, after the Pakatan Harapan-led state government collapsed.
