Strengthen unity during Ramadan, says Sabah CM

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called on the people, especially Muslims in this state, to take the opportunity to strengthen unity during the fasting month.

Speaking at the breaking of fast and Ramadan contributions presentation at Masjid Haji Abd Razak Sabandar in Tuaran on Tuesday (March 28), he said a strong united front among the diverse folk will enable the government to plan and develop the state.

“Division will only hurt us. To move forward and be respected, we must have solidarity and work together. So use this Ramadan month to strengthen our unity and harmony,” he added.

Hajiji, who is also Sulaman assemblyman, presented contributions to 77 recipients from groups in need including asnaf, the disabled, orphans and poor single mothers from the Sabandar area.

“Due to my duties as the Chief Minister in administering the state, I have limited time to spend with my constituents.

“So I am happy that I can meet with the people at Kampung Sabandar and break fast with them during Ramadan,” he added.
