KOTA KINABALU: Mohd Naim Kurniawan Moktar, a son of Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, has been named the Umno Youth treasurer for the 2023-2026 term.

Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh announced the appointment of Mohd Naim, who is also the Kinabatangan Umno Youth chief, in a Facebook post Friday (March 24).

Akmal also announced the appointments of Mohd Hafiz Ariffin and Mohammad Sollehin Mohamad Tajie as the Youth wing’s secretary and information chief, respectively.

Later, Mohd Naim, in a post on social media, thanked Akmal for the opportunity to serve as the treasurer of the party wing at the national level.

He said his appointment was an honour not just for himself but for all youth members in Sabah, hoping this will spur them on to strengthen the party to face future challenges.

“This is a big responsibility and I hope the youth members will pray for me so I can carry out the role the best I can and help the party particularly the Youth wing,” said Mohd Naim.

Bung Moktar was also recently reappointed as the Sabah Umno chief by party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
