Penang DAP convention kicks off with cake-cutting to mark 57th year

BUTTERWORTH: The Penang DAP Convention 2023 began on Sunday (March 19) with a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the party's 57th anniversary.

State party chairman Chow Kon Yeow said this year's convention would be an opportunity for members to review the past two years since the last gathering was held.

"This year's convention will allow delegates and members to look back at incidents and celebrate achievements during this period.

"It is also an opportunity for us to formulate strategies to face upcoming challenges, especially the state election that will be held within the next 100 days.

"We encourage comrades in the party and Pakatan Harapan to continue striving forward and dedicate (ourselves) to the party and government," he told the delegates at PICCA @ Butterworth Arena here.

Chairman Lim Guan Eng, secretary-general Anthony Loke and state leaders were among the 1,000 attendees at the convention.
