Sarawak's diverse offerings on show at MATTA Fair in KL

KUCHING: Attractive tour packages to Sarawak are available at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2023 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is promoting various attractions with 13 partners at the fair from Friday to Sunday (March 17 to 19), with packages starting from RM250 for a three-day stay.

"We are confident of attracting up to 10,000 visitors from the projected 250,000 visitors over the three days," STB said in a statement on Friday.

Visitors to the Sarawak Pavilion will get to explore the state's culture, adventure, nature, food and festivals.

Green travel enthusiasts can check out ecotourism products that include the Gunung Mulu National Park, a Unesco world heritage site, and authentic village homestays.

For culture buffs, the Rainforest World Music Festival will take place on June 23-25 at the Sarawak Cultural Village.

"Sarawak has taken bold steps over the years towards creating and implementing a sustainable, eco-friendly event for the music festival and other events," the statement added.

Other attractions at the Sarawak Pavilion include handicraft, sape (Orang Ulu boat lute) music performances, and kek lapis (traditional layer cake) tasting.
