Sabah can be pushed to enact anti-hopping law, says lawyer

KOTA KINABALU: It is mandatory for the Sabah government to adopt the federal anti-hopping law, otherwise Parliament could pass legislation to compel Sabah to adopt the law, says Sabah Law Society president Roger Chin.

“The amendment to the Constitution to include the Anti-Hopping law that came into effect in October last year saw the amendment to the 8th Schedule as well, so it would be incumbent upon the state to adopt the same provisions,” he said.
