Baker rushed to hospital with hand stuck in cake-making machine

SIBU: A 30-year-old woman had to endure excruciating pain as she was rushed to Hospital Sibu on Friday (March 3) with her right hand still stuck in an industrial cake-making machine.

A spokesman from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station said they received a distress call at 4.40pm about a woman whose hand got caught in the machine as she was operating it in a bakery here.

Six firefighters, led by operations commander Pandi Seh, were deployed to the location.

"On arrival at the scene, the operations commander sized up the situation and detached a part of the machine where her hand was stuck," he said.

He added that the victim was rushed to the Sibu Hospital emergency department with the machine still attached to her right hand.

"The victim's hand was subsequently freed from the machine," he said.
