A victory for the family too, says Rosmah


KUALA LUMPUR: The acquittal of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) audit report tampering trial is not only a victory for him but also for the whole family, says Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

She said the court’s decision on Friday (March 3) would boost her husband’s spirit in facing more trials.

“This decision will revive our spirits as a family.

“Najib also said he was grateful for the acquittal, we hope for better things to come,” she told reporters at the High Court here.

Also present at the proceeding was Najib’s daughter Nooryana Najib.

Earlier, Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan, who is now a Court of Appeal judge, acquitted Najib and also former 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy from the charges.

The judge made the decision to after finding that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against them.
