PUTRAJAYA: There will be no by-election to be held for the Batang Kali state seat in Selangor, the Election Commission (EC) announced on Wednesday (Feb 22).
EC Secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said they had received the letter of notification from the Selangor State Assembly Speaker Ng Suee Lim on Tuesday (Feb 21) regarding the unexpected vacancy of the Batang Kali seat after it was declared vacant in accordance with Article LXIX of the Selangor Constitution 1959.
