‘Collect rubbish in rural areas to curb open burning’


JOHOR BARU: Rubbish collection services should be extended to rural areas to prevent open burning during the coming dry season, says an environmentalist.

Dr Serina Rahman said such services, which are usually available in towns and cities, should reach these areas too as villagers usually burn their rubbish or dump them into rivers or the sea instead of burying them.
