PETALING JAYA: Three teenagers have been detained in connection with fights at a housing area and near a hypermarket in Ara Damansara.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said a police report was lodged over the incidents at 11.46pm last Friday.
“We believe both incidents occurred between two groups over teasing and insults that led to anger,” he said when contacted yesterday.ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said the three teenagers aged between 14 and 16 were detained at about 1.10am on Saturday.
“All three boys have been remanded until Feb 21. We are investigating under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting without weapons,” he added.
In another case, two men were detained for fighting while armed with a knife and a machete near a food stall in Taman Medan.
ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said the incident occurred at about 12.15am on Saturday.
“We detained the two men aged between 28 and 32 and seized a knife and a machete. Both have been remanded until Feb 21 for further investigations,” he said.
