MAIPs allocates over RM7.2mil for school aid this year


KANGAR: The Perlis Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) is allocating RM7,219,800 in tithe for school aid this year.

The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail (pic) said the allocation would be distributed to 10,314 students in 103 primary and secondary schools in the state.

"Each student will get RM700, ” he said at the presentation of the school aid at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Arau last night. A statement on the event was issued by MAIPs on Saturday (Feb 18).

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said the aid consisted of RM300 for the purchase of school uniforms and stationery which will be managed by the schools concerned, RM100 in cash and RM300 for the implementation of educational excellence and activities.

Also present at the event were State Executive Council member Muhammad Azmir Azizan, State Education Department director Naharudeen Othman and MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor. - Bernama
