Cops probe video of man tossing trash into river in Bandar Sunway


SUBANG JAYA: Police have open investigations after a video showing a man throwing a bag of rubbish into a river here went viral.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said that the incident occurred on Feb 9 near Sungai Penaga in Bandar Sunway.

"The 19-year-old college student presented himself to the district police to facilitate investigations on Feb 10. Based on our questioning, the items thrown into the river were food that had been used for prayer purposes," he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 11).

He added that investigations are underway and a RM300 fine could be imposed if found guilty of throwing rubbish from vehicles.
