Covid-19 Watch: 202 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 202 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Feb 4), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Sunday ( Feb 5 ) that this brings the new total to 5,037,784 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 202, there are six imported cases and the remaining 196 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 275 recoveries on Saturday bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 10,136.

Of the active cases, 96.3% or 9,758 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 3.7% of active cases or 372 individuals need to be hospitalised, with six warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

All six in ICU require ventilator support.
