Cops issue 17 summonses, seize three bikes during traffic ops in Ampang


AMPANG: A total of 17 traffic summonses were issued for various offences while three motorcycles were seized for illegal modifications following an operation at Bukit Tinjau here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said an officer and four personnel from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement division (BSPT) were involved in the 3am operation on Sunday (Feb 5).

"Three motorcycles were seized under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 while 17 summonses were also issued.

"The motorcycles and their riders were brought to the Ampang Jaya BSPT headquarters for documentation purposes," he said in a statement on Sunday.

ACP Mohamad Farouk advised all road users, especially motorcyclists, to drive and ride responsibly and not to make illegal modifications.
