Floods: 285 victims still in relief centres in Sabah as of 8pm on Feb 3


KOTA KINABALU: Only two districts - Telupid and Beaufort - are still housing 285 flood victims in Sabah as of 8pm on Friday (Feb 3).

There are 211 victims in the shelter in Beaufort and 74 in the relief centre in Telupid as of now, according to the state disaster management committee secretariat in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, five temporary relief centres with two in Beluran, Telupid (two) and Paitan (one) were closed as the situation improved and evacuees were allowed to go home.

The Paitan sub-district office said while it found the flood situation there has receded, its disaster operation control centre will continue to be vigilant and monitor the situation.
