Mat Sabu heads FT Day awards list


PETALING JAYA: Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu heads the awards list of the 2023 Federal Territory Day celebration, with a total of 164 persons honoured.

The Amanah president was conferred Darjah Kebesaran Seri Mahkota Wilayah (SMW), which carries the title Datuk Seri.

Other recipients of the award were International Trade and Industry Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, senior deputy secretary-general in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Sollehuddin Alyubi Zakaria, Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, RMAF deputy chief Lt-Jen Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, Orando Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Dr Eng Wei Chun and Amechanus Holdings Sdn Bhd executive director Datuk Seri Lawrence Yeo Chua Poh.

Fifteen persons were conferred Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW), which carries the title Datuk.

They included Sabah and Sarawak Affairs division secretary in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Toisin Gantor, Agriculture and Food Security (Policy) Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Azah Hanim Ahmad, Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry chief enforcement director Datuk Azman Adam.

Also awarded Datukship were InvestKL chief executive director Datuk Muhammad Azmi Zulkifli, Kumpulan KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Md Shah Mahmood and UMW Toyota Motor president Ravindran Kurusamy.

A total of 16 persons were bestowed Johan Mahkota Wilayah (JMW) while 19 were conferred Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah (KMW).

Other recipients included 15 who were conferred Ahli Mahkota Wilayah (AMW) and 92 who were awarded Pingat Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah (PPW).

Among those from the civil service and statutory bodies awarded the JMW were Chua Choon Hwa from the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, Mejar-Jen Masro Kaliwon from the Armed Forces, Dept Comm Azari Abd Rahman from the police, Nasri Ahmad from Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Science Research and Defence Technology Institute’s Dr Zalini Yunus.

Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW), which carries the Datuk title, was also awarded to athletes and national sport associations.

Among them were former national footballer Datuk Lim Teong Kim, national tenpin bowler Datuk Shalin Zulkifli, national body builder Datuk Mohd Syarul Azman Mahen Abdullah and Datuk Arivalagan Ponniyah from the Malaysian Karate Association.

The Federal Territory Department congratulated and conveyed its highest appreciation to all the recipients for their services and contributions.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah graced the investiture ceremony held at Istana Negara.

Also in attendance was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
