Rafizi: I'm ready to answer questions on economy, inflation and cost of living

PUTRAJAYA: Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli is expecting questions on the economy, inflation and cost of living to be raised in the upcoming Parliament sitting, adding that he is prepared to answer all questions.

He said that lawmakers have the right to raise the matter in the Dewan Rakyat, and he did not treat this as a political issue.

"I believe that the people are and can evaluate the issue. Whether the opposition wants to raise the matter, it is up to them as the rakyat knows the real situation," he said during a press conference at Menara Prisma on Wednesday (Jan 25).

This Parliament sitting will be the first for Rafizi to attend as the Economy minister.

In the past, as the opposition member, Rafizi had raised issues involving the economy and cost of living.

The last time Rafizi was in the Dewan Rakyat was when he won the Pandan parliamentary seat in the 13th General Election.

He did not contest in the 2018 national polls.

In the 15th General Election, he won the Pandan seat with a 48,000 majority defeating the Perikatan Nasional candidate, Muhammad Farique Zubir Albak who secured 25,706 votes.
