Judges must make decisions based on the law, not to seek popularity, says CJ

PUTRAJAYA: Criminal liability must continue to be determined in accordance with the applicable laws and the strength of the evidence presented before the court, says Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat.

The Chief Justice said that it was the job of judges to ensure that those proven guilty would be convicted and those not so proven will be acquitted.
