KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah chapter of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) is the latest to call for Pakatan Harapan to be absorbed as part of Sabah government.
In a statement Thursday (Dec 15), Sabah Amanah chairman Lahirul Latigu voiced the party's full support for an earlier proposal by Pakatan partner, incoming Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick on Tuesday (Dec 13).
The cooperation between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan Nasional (BN) state government with the federal unity government should be translated here in Sabah, reasoned Lahirul.
“The political situation is different than previously at the federal level.
“GRS and BN also cooperated in forming the unity government.
“So, I echoed Ewon’s sentiments that there is a need to include PH in the state government, especially administration at the grassroots level.
“This would definitely strengthen the stability of state politics and the Sabah government,” said Lahirul.
Ewon, who is Kadamaian assemblyman, had, on Tuesday, expressed hope that the Pakatan assemblymen and their leaders in Sabah could be included in the state government.
The Penampang MP reminded that on Nov 25, all seven Sabah Pakatan assemblymen had presented their support and commitment to work with Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as the Chief Minister until the end of term in 2025.
Meanwhile, Lahirul also believed that the GRS-BN state government inclusion in the unity government would also ensure the federal administration would be able to function in the best manner in providing service to the people particularly in Sabah.
