PUTRAJAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin keeps the guessing game going on whether he will contest the Umno president's post in the upcoming party election next year.
“Let’s see,” he briefly said when reporters asked him if he was going against Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamid for the top post in Umno, here, Monday (Dec 12).
The former health minister did not elaborate further.
He was speaking after he officially handed over duties to Health Minister Dr Zailah Mustafa.
During the 15th General Election (GE15) campaign for the Sungai Buloh parliament seat, Khairy expressed his desire to become Umno president and prime minister.
However, Umno supreme council member Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii said that the party elections will be held within six months after GE15 as stipulated in the Umno Constitution amendment.
Its secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan had also said that the party's annual general assembly has been postponed to January next year.
