Heavy police presence at Anwar’s house

SUNGAI LONG: There is a hive of activity over at Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s residence in Sungai Long.

There was a heavy police presence, media personnel, and also supporters who had waited there since morning.

A convoy of black Volvo SUVs and two black BMW motorbikes arrived at Anwar’s house at 3.15pm and there were four individuals dressed in suits, believed to be the security detail for Anwar.

PKR’s Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar briskly addressed the crowd, saying that after 24 years, this moment had finally arrived.

"I'm urging everyone to be calm and patient. We must return to efforts in recovering the nation," said Shamsul.

DAP’s Ronnie Liu also expressed similar remarks.

"Anwar has eaten and he is still resting," said Liu.

An hour ago, the King consented to the appointment of Anwar as the tenth prime minister of Malaysia.

Anwar is set to swear in as the prime minister later at 5pm Thursday (Nov 24).
