GE15: Pakatan MPs meet in Anwar’s office

PETALING JAYA: Several Pakatan Harapan MPs arrived at Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s office for an undisclosed meeting.

Among those present here was Sungai Buloh MP Datuk R. Ramanan, Sekijang MP Zaleha Mustafa, Subang MP Wong Chen, Segamat MP R Yuneswaran, Ledang MP Syed Noh Syed Ibrahim, Tanjung Malim MP Chang Lih Kang and Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasir.

Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who’s also Muar MP, is also present here in the meeting at Jalan Gasing.

An aide to Anwar said the ongoing meeting at Jalan Gasing was “just a meet up”.

Ramanan, when approached by reporters, also did not divulge details of the meeting.

“We leave it to the wisdom of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to appoint Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the next prime minister,” said Ramanan.

Wong was also tight-lipped regarding the meeting.

“I don’t know, I just got here after receiving a message,” said Wong when queried by reporters.

Syed Saddiq, when asked if Anwar could be sworn in as the next prime minister, merely said “doakan” (pray).

It was also understood that DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, and PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli had been inside the office since noon.

Loke left around 3.45pm and when queried by reporters on the outcome of the meeting, the Seremban MP merely said “tunggulah” (just wait).

There is a hive of activity over at Anwar’s office in Jalan Gasing, where media personnel from various news agencies had staked out since Tuesday (Nov 22) afternoon.

There were several uniformed and plain clothes police officers here, and several police outriders who parked outside Anwar’s office.

On Tuesday, the King urged Malaysians to be patient and a decision on the next federal government would be announced soon.
