Saarani sworn in as Perak MB


KUALA KANGSAR: Barisan Nasional's Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has been sworn in as the 15th Mentri Besar of Perak.

The ceremony was held at Istana Iskandariah before Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah in Kuala Kangsar here at 5.30pm Monday (Nov 21).

Saarani, 61, who retained his Kota Tampan seat in the 15th General Election, received the instrument of appointment and took the oath of office during the ceremony.

All Barisan Nasional assemblymen were present except for Chenderiang assemblyman Choong Shin Heng (MCA).

Pakatan Harapan assemblymen Dr Abdul Aziz Bari (Tebing Tinggi), Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin (Sungai Rapat), Nga Kor Ming (Kepayang), Tanjung Malim MP Chang Lih Kang and Gopeng MP Tan Kar Hing were also seen during the ceremony.

Perak Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa and PAS Manjoi assemblyman Mohd Hafez Sabri were also present.
