GE15: Barisan-Pakatan union for Pahang govt on the cards, say sources

KUANTAN: Sources have seemingly confirmed that a political union will happen between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional here to form the Pahang state government.

A source from within Pakatan said the pact would come in one package - Federal, Perak and Pahang.

The source further said that the Pahang mentri besar's post would go to a Barisan assemblyman.

Meanwhile, Pahang PKR secretary Zuraidi Ismail said that negotiations were going on and that it would mean Pakatan had to "give way."

"We are waiting for the final outcome of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's negotiations with Barisan Nasional. It's a different stage now.

"We have to be flexible and look at what’s better for the country. We have to weigh the pros and cons – at the moment what is more detrimental is allowing a PAS-led coalition to govern the country.

"So, even if the negotiations meant that some of our principles will not be adhered to," he said.
