GE15: Pakatan retains Bangi and Puchong

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan has retained its Bangi and Puchong seats with Syahredzan Johan and Yeo Bee Yin garnering 141,568 and 74,425 votes, respectively.

Syahredzan won with a majority of 69,701 votes whereas Yeo secured victory with a margin of 57,957.

"As Bangi's new MP, flood issues will be the first thing on my agenda," Syahredzan said here early Sunday (Nov 20).

Coming in second in Bangi was Perikatan Nasional's Muhammad Nazrul Md Nazir from PAS with 71,867 votes.

Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Hoh Hee Lee, who came in third with 25,421 votes, congratulated Syahredzan on his win.

"I pray that he will carry out his duties well for the welfare of the people of Bangi.

"I am grateful that everything went smoothly throughout this election campaign," he said.

Thanking the Barisan machinery for working hard throughout the campaign, Hoh said they should not be discouraged by the loss.

"Fix all the weaknesses and close ranks, a bright future awaits us," he added.

In Puchong, Datuk Syed Ibrahim Syed Abu Kader from the Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma) for Barisan Nasional garnered 21,468 votes.
