SJK (T) Ladang Middleton in Rompin, Negri Sembilan, is finally getting piped water thanks to the state government, Malaysia Nanban reported.

State human resources, plantation and non-Muslim affairs committee chairman and Nilai assemblyman J. Arul Kumar said the pipe-laying and meter installation work was completed on Monday.

The project cost around RM24,000 and was funded by the state government. It was carried out with the support of Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan and the state Public Works Department.

Teachers and pupils at the school had been using water from a pond in the plantation for their needs, which put their health at risk.

School board chairman Kanniappan, who accompanied Arul Kumar on a visit to the school, thanked the assemblyman and Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun for the completion of the project.

The small town of Rompin is located in Jempol district, Negri Sembilan.
