Baby boy abandoned in Kajang


KAJANG: A two-week-old baby boy has been found in front of a terrace house in Taman Saujana Impian here.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the baby was left there without any clothing or a note and discovered at 11.39pm on Thursday (Nov 17).

"The baby was brought to Hospital Kajang for treatment. It was confirmed that he has not suffered any injury and is in fine health.

"The baby is still being monitored at the hospital and will be handed over to the Welfare Department," he said in a statement on Friday (Nov 18).

The case has been classified under Section 317 of the Penal Code for abandonment of a child, he added.

"We urge those with information on the matter to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer Inspt Mu'az Mazlan at 017-9788804 to assist in the investigation," he said.
