Tengku Puteri Iman to receive honorary degree on Nov 17

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s eldest princess Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah will be awarded an honorary degree of “Doctor of the University” by Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) on Thursday (Nov 17).

This is in recognition of her role as an inspirational, purpose-driven leader committed to championing mental health in Malaysia and beyond.

Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan, who was the international patron of the World Mental Health Day 2020, had also led a Malaysian delegation to the 23rd World Federation for Mental Health Congress in Westminster, London, in the United Kingdom, this year.

She is also the Green Ribbon Group (GRG) founder and president.

A social enterprise, GRG aims to empower stakeholders in raising awareness of mental health issues and in creating viable solutions through advocacy, fundraising and collaboration.

The honorary degree conferment will take place at HWUM’s graduation ceremony, with Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah in attendance.
