Explosion reported along Sabah-S'wak Gas Pipeline near Lawas, at least one killed


KUCHING: An explosion has been reported to have occurred at a section of the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline near Lawas, in northern Sarawak, on Wednesday (Nov 16).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said an individual reported the incident at the Lawas fire station at 2.49pm.

"According to initial information, one person was killed and another person injured in the incident," Bomba said, adding that its personnel were on the way to the location.

A representative from Petronas, when contacted, said the company was gathering information on the incident and would issue a statement as soon as possible.
