Floods: Taman Setia Warisan, Kampung Alam Budiman also hit after afternoon rain

PETALING JAYA: More flash floods have been reported, with Taman Setia Warisan at Section U6 and Kampung Alam Budiman, Puncak Alam, also being inundated.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received information that Taman Setia Warisan was flooding at around 5.15pm while Kampung Alam Budiman began flooding about half an hour later on Thursday (Nov 10).

"The flood situation is believed to have been caused by a nearby river which overflowed near Taman Setia Warisan and waters were at least one metre deep. At least 20 houses were affected by the floods.

"At Kampung Alam Budiman, the floods were believed to have occurred after a nearby monsoon drain overflowed. Villagers have evacuated their houses to higher ground and our personnel at the scene also assisted to evacuate a senior citizen via a boat," he said, adding that the waters were also believed to be one metre deep.

He said his personnel would be closely monitoring the situation.
