GE15: Subang to see three-cornered fight

PETALING JAYA: With no surprise appearances by Independent candidates, the Subang parliamentary seat (P104) will see a three-cornered fight this 15th General Election (GE15).

Incumbent Wong Chen (Pakatan Harapan - PKR) will be defending the seat against Kow Cheong Wei (Barisan Nasional - MCA) and Ang Hiang Ni (Perikatan Nasional - Gerakan).

Returning officer Datuk Johary Anuar made the official announcement of the GE15 candidates at the nomination centre at Kompleks 3K, SS 13, Subang Jaya.

Wong won the Subang seat in GE14 and GE13.

The past three general elections saw one Independent candidate contesting each round for the urban constituency.

About 230,000 voters are expected to cast their votes in Subang in GE15 this year. The race breakdown is as follows: 55% Chinese, 27% Malay, 17% Indian and 1% others.
