KUALA LUMPUR: Voters in Wangsa Maju here will see a mix of new and old faces contesting.
The seasoned politicians were Datuk Seri Mohd Shafei Abdullah (BN-Umno), Wee Choo Keong (Warisan) and Zahir Hassan (PH-PKR).
Wee was a DAP member before joining PKR and he quit the party in 2010. He is now contesting under the Warisan banner in the six-cornered fight.
The newcomers are Nuridah Mohd Salleh (PN-PAS), Norzaila Arifin (GTA-Putra) and Independent candidate Ravee Suntheralingam.
Wangsa Maju incumbent Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew is not defending her seat to make way for Zahir.
In the Cheras and Segambut constituencies, incumbent MPs Tan Kok Wai and Hannah Yeoh respectively are defending their seats.
They will be contesting against Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional candidates in three-cornered fights.
In Segambut, newcomer from Gerakan, Prabagaran Vythilingam and MCA’s Datuk Daniel Ling Sia Chin are also vying for the seat.
Other candidates in Cheras are Bersatu-Bersekutu candidate Ruby Chin and BN-MCA candidate Mike Chong.
