GE15: GTA to contest five parliamentary seats in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: Party Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) will be fielding candidates who are still wet behind the ears to contest five parliamentary seats in Penang during the 15th General Election.

According to Penang GTA chairman Muhammad Farouk Abdullah, the five Parliamentary seats to be contested are Kepala Batas, Tasek Gelugor, Permatang Pauh, Balik Pulau and Bagan.

"All candidates have not been involved in politics before, they are new faces. We picked the five seats to contest because the majority of the voters are Malays and our candidates are also Malays who are Muslims,” he said after introducing the candidates, here Thursday (Nov 3).

The Election Commission has set Nov 5 for nomination, Nov 15 for early voting while polling date is Nov 19. - Bernama
