MARANG: Perikatan Nasional will be fielding Datuk Dr Alias Razak in Kuala Nerus to seize the seat after its incumbent MP Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali left PAS.
Dr Alias is a medical doctor and Terengganu PAS deputy commissioner.
Perikatan, which will be contesting under PAS' banner, will also feature its six candidates again. They are incumbent MPs Datuk Rosol Wahid (Hulu Terengganu), Shaharizukirnain Abdul Kadir (Setiu), Datuk Ahmad Amzad Mohamed @ Hashim (Kuala Terengganu), Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang (Marang), Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli (Dungun) and Che Alias Hamid (Kemaman).
The other seat will be contested by Datuk Che Ahmad Zulkifly Jusoh for Besut.
The candidates were announced by Terengganu Perikatan chairman and state mentri besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar here Thursday (Nov 3).
Khairuddin would be contesting under Barisan Nasional.
The two-term MP defeated Umno and Amanah candidates by 8,447 votes in the last general election.
He was sacked as secretary of the PAS syura council on Feb 11 after being expelled from the party’s central committee.
