GE15: Former PAS MP Khairuddin to contest Kuala Nerus seat under BN


MARANG: Former PAS central committee member Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali will be fielded in Kuala Nerus under Barisan Nasional.

Barisan's secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir confirmed the matter in a statement.

He said Khairuddin, who is the incumbent Kuala Nerus MP, would be fielded as a direct candidate similar to Che Abdullah Mat Nawi who will be contesting in Tumpat.

The two-term MP defeated Umno and Amanah candidates by 8,447 votes in the last general election.

He was sacked as secretary of the PAS syura council on Feb 11 after being expelled from the party’s central committee.
