Sabah Pakatan names candidates for 24 of 25 seats, except for Kinabatangan


KOTA KINABALU: The four Sabah Pakatan Harapan coalition parties and its partner Muda will contest all 25 parliament seats in Sabah in GE15.

However, the coalition did not announce the candidate for the Kinabatangan seat, which is held by Barisan Nasional's Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.

It is believed that the seat could go to PKR or Upko.

Sabah PKR will contest 10 seats, Sabah DAP (seven), Upko (five) while Amanah and Muda will contest one seat each.

All incumbent MPs from Pakatan in Sabah have been retained, including Sabah Pakatan chairman Datuk Christina Liew (PKR) in Tawau, Awang Husaini Sahari (PKR) in Putatan, Upko president Datuk Wilfred Tangau in Tuaran and DAP's incumbents Chan Foong Hin in Kota Kinabalu, Noorita Sual in Tenom and Vivian Wong in Sandakan.

PKR will be fielding Thonny Chee (Kudat), Madeli @ Modily Bangali (Kota Belud), Mustapha Sakmud (Sepanggar), Dikin Musah (Beaufort), Taufik Dahlan (Ranau), Datuk Sangkar Rasam (Pensiangan) and Arastam Random (Semporna).

The DAP candidates are Henry Shim (Papar), Liau Fui Fui (Batu Sapi) , Oscar Sia Yu Hock (Lahad Datu), Grelydia Gillod (Keningau).

Upko candidates are Datuk Ewon Benedick in Penampang, Rowindy Lawrence (Kimanis), Felix Joseph Saang (Beluran), Dr Peter Jr Naintin (Libaran).

Sabah Amanah chairman Lahirul Latigu will contest in Sipitang and Muda will field farmer Sharizal Denci in Kota Marudu.

Coalition parties have been announcing their respective candidates since noon on Monday (Oct 31).
