Man suffers burns on entire body in Lahad Datu fertiliser store fire


KOTA KINABALU: A 41-year-old man suffered burns all over his body after a fire broke out at a fertiliser store in Lahad Datu on Monday (Oct 31).

The victim, Indonesian worker Nasaruddin Silele, was sent to the Lahad Datu district hospital before the Fire and Rescue Department arrived on the scene.

"A report came in at 3.42pm alerting on the fire that occurred at Jalan Jerokoh, Batu 13 there involving a non-permanent store structure which was completely burnt down.

"Inspection was conducted around the area to ensure there were no other risks.

"The fire was brought under control at 4.40pm and the operation ended at 5pm," said a department spokesperson.
