Floods: 36 people evacuated to Alor Gajah relief centre


MELAKA: Floods in Alor Gajah have forced the evacuation of 36 individuals from nine families on Thursday (Oct 27) morning.

Melaka Civil Defence Force director Leftenan Kolonel (PA) Kamarulsyah Muslim said the worst-hit area was Kampung Tanjong Rimau Luar.

He said floods in several areas were caused by heavy rain since early Thursday morning.

Kamarulsyah said other villages affected are Kampung Tanjung Rimau and Kampung Kuala Linggi.

Meanwhile, Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said his men were also involved in the evacuation process at Kampung Gadek.

He said the victims were transferred to a nearby evacuation centre.
