Revving up excitement


Ready to ride: Car enthusiasts will able to get up close with the vehicles showcased at the event like visitors seen here during the first leg of the CarSifu Auto Show 2022 in Kuala Lumpur.

JOHOR BARU: After an exciting run in Kuala Lumpur early this month, the second leg of the CarSifu Auto Show 2022 opens today at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey here.

The Johor Baru event is also the first time that the auto show is held outside the Klang Valley.

The five-day auto show, organised by the Star Media Group, runs until Sunday and is open from 10am to 10pm.

Admission is free.

Participating brands in the show are Honda, Proton, Subaru, Toyota and Volvo which will be showcasing their latest models.

Cars to be showcased include sedans, hatchbacks, multi-purpose vehicles, and sports utility vehicles (SUVs) powered by conventional engines as well as hybrid and all-electric powertrains.

Visitors can also expect a treat of special deals to be offered at the auto show.

Honda’s display will include vehicles such as its latest Honda HR-V e:EV RS hybrid SUV and the Honda City Sedan with V-Sensing advanced driver assistance system.

Meanwhile, Proton will bring its popular line-up, which includes the recently facelifted X70, the sporty X50 and the affordable Saga.

Subaru will be showcasing the GT Editions of its XV and Forester SUVs and will be offering visitors a chance to try out the Subaru Advanced Technology Drive (SATD) experience, which makes Subaru models safer and more comfortable to drive.

At Toyota’s display, the recently launched Veloz seven-seater crossover will take its place among models such as the Corolla Cross Hybrid, Vios and Yaris.

Volvo will be presenting the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, Malaysia’s first locally-assembled electric vehicle, and a range of plug-in hybrid models.

Himalaya Sports will be offering its range of sweet, salty and minty sweets made with Himalayan salt to visitors who participate in a survey at the auto show.
