Perikatan to field Radzi as its Putrajaya candidate

PUTRAJAYA: Perikatan Nasional will field Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin (pic) as its candidate for Putrajaya in GE15.

His candidacy was announced by Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during the "Jelajah Perihatin" event here.

The announcement confirms months of speculation that the Education Minister would contest the Federal administrative capital parliamentary seat.

"This is our candidate. Tonight, we confirm that Dr Radzi is for Putrajaya," he said on Wednesday (Oct 26) night.

Radzi, 45, had contested for the Ketereh seat in Kelantan in GE14 but lost to Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

He was appointed senator and was given the deputy minister in the prime minister's department (economy) post during the Pakatan Harapan administration.

He was appointed senior education minister in 2020 and held the portfolio until Parliament was dissolved on Oct 10.
